In her dissertation titled &#8220;Single, Poor Women in Istanbul, 1850\u20131915: Prostitution, Sexuality, and Female Labor&#8221;, she focuses on the urban experience of self-supporting women as significant agents of urban change in Istanbul between 1850 and 1915.
